The Palace of Culture and Science
The symbol of Warsaw and the tallest building in Warsaw (234,5 m high) "donated" to Warsaw by the Soviet nation. Today it houses offices, theatres, cinema, museum, headquarters of many companies and huge congress centre with a concert hall. The major tourist attraction is the viewing terrace with its grand panorama of the city on the 30th floor. In 2000 a clock, the second largest in Europe was unveiled on the building.

The Marszalkowska Residential District
The MDM district enclosed by facades of Marszałkowska street Waryńskiego street and Konstytucji Square and is acknowledge as a leading work of socialist realism architecture. Despite its rather pompous still, monumental character and form, with sculptures of the builders of socialism , which are part of the spirit of the city centre - the mood of its inhabitants is rather positive. A good place for a walk.
